Pale Blue Heriz Medallion Rug

A pale blue field sets the tone for this pale blue heriz medallion rug, making its large stepped ivory and taupe center easy to read from across the room. Sand spandrels soften the transition around the medallion, while an ivory border traced with blue vine detail gives the piece a clean outer edge. The familiar Heriz format brings visual order without relying on heavy color. Place it where you want a substantial traditional pattern with an airy, blue-led palette.

Hand-Knotted Construction

Artisan weavers in Bhadohi, India, the carpet weaving capital of the world, create this pale blue heriz medallion rug on a loom, tying every knot by hand. It combines a cotton foundation with a 100% wool pile made from hand-spun wool yarn. Each finished rug is hand-washed before it leaves the workshop. Each rug is knotted at a density of 25 to 35 knots per square inch and finished to a 0.5 inch pile, giving a substantial, hard-wearing surface that holds its detail underfoot.

Sizes and Shapes

The collection offers 45 sizes in four shapes: rectangles from 4x6 to 9x14, runners from 2'6x6 to 3x14, and round and square options from 4 to 9 feet. For a seating group, an 8x10 usually lets the sofa front legs sit on the rug. Choose a 9x12 to give an open-plan living zone a clear boundary.

Made to Order

Nothing here is mass produced. This rug is knotted after ordering, then finished as an individual piece for its new home. Because it is handmade, slight variation in line, color, and finish can occur. Consider those subtle differences the signature of the maker’s hand, not a departure from its design.

Care

  • Vacuum without a beater bar for routine care.
  • Blot spills at once and never rub the affected area.
  • Have the rug professionally cleaned when needed; rotate it every 6-12 months.
  • Finish the setup with a rug pad for comfort and support.

Use these straightforward steps as part of a regular home-care routine, and address a spill promptly before it has the chance to settle.
